Margot Rudolph
Artist Biography
“After my emigration from the Netherlands in 1982, I was immediately drawn to the vibrancy of Africa and ever since draw my inspiration from Africa’s landscape, indigenous plants, and vibrant textures. I use stoneware clay and the traditional coiling technique, combined with colorful glazes to capture Africa’s vibrancy and to create unique works of art. I obtained my National Diploma in ceramic design from the Tshwane University of Technology in 1986. I have since had one of my pieces selected as one being part of the Corobrik collection in the Pretoria Art Museum, and another as part of the Pretoria University Art Museum collection. I have won numerous awards for pieces displayed at provincial and national ceramic exhibitions. I have exhibited my work at various group exhibitions.”
